Pronoun Stripping
Here’s a look at what it’s like to be nonbinary in 2025.
I’m stripping pronouns from places I previously displayed them, because I live in a red state and work for an agency that gets its funding from an increasingly hostile toward anyone who’s different government. I’m in a place where I am redacting parts of me to make sure other people have jobs, and by making sure that those above me aren’t leaned on to get rid of that person.
🧞Here's A Look At What It's Like to be Blind and Nonbinary in 2025
Here’s a look at what it’s like to be nonbinary in 2025. ,back in January, I posted on socials asking if there were any groups for blind and visually impaired individuals. Among the negative responses were: • Several suggestions that I end my life and/or predictions that I would be dead in the next few years. • Accusations that I was one of those trans folks trying to groom “Those poor, innocent blind people.” • But my absolute favorite…
Someone said, “Those poor blind people. They can’t tell which equipment they got.”
You know, because we’re all sharing experiences and stuff.
🧞 At our all-staff meeting someone next to me observed that the room was divided into the guys and gals sections. After paying to the sound dynamics, I turned to her and said, “and I’m in the middle!”
🧞 Thank you riding along through my hatching.

🧞 A generally accepted honorific for some who is nonbinary is Mx, pronounced “mix” I don’t personally like being addressed by an honorific, but some cultures hardwire it in people that you say Mr., Ms., Mx. before one’s name as a show of respect.
🧞 There is a definite shift going on. We are in a situation where my friends call me by one name and set of pronouns, and everybody else calls me a different name. Also, we’ve decided the guy associated with that other name is an asshole.
🧞🧞🧞 I actually had someone thank me for sharing my pronouns with her yesterday. Of all possible reactions, I did not expect that. Ever.
But it was a good thing to have happen.
See? My Friends by me the best gifts. My friends could learn a thing or two… Note the first instance of Friends is capitalized. #BlindBarbie #NonbinaryThings

BPI Fall Social
I’ve been playing with canva and exploring its accessibility and whether or not alt text transfers out. in case it doesn’t, here’s a description of the imbedded design: The image is a promotional poster for an event called the “BPI Fall Social” happening in September 2024. The text “Join the fun at bpi.gay” is written at the top. The central part of the image features a colorful, fantastical dragon with vibrant scales in shades of blue, green, purple, and red. The dragon is perched on a bridge over a river, with a city skyline in the background. The sky is filled with dramatic, colorful clouds, suggesting either sunrise or sunset. The text “BPI Fall Social” is overlaid on the image of the dragon.
