Identity & Creativity
Why Changeling?
River explains how Changeling began as an internet handle and became a reclaimed creative identity.
River is a blind writer, accessibility practitioner, artist, and creator. Their work often lives at the intersection of disability, technology, identity, storytelling, and the internet as a place people can still shape for themselves.
Starship Changeling is the personal side of that work: less polished storefront, more living archive.
Changeling is River’s evolving avatar and creative counterpart: green-skinned, dragon-alien, bright-eyed, winged, strange, joyful, stubborn, and difficult to file correctly.
Sometimes Changeling is a character. Sometimes a symbol. Sometimes a lens for exploring identity, accessibility, fiction, and transformation.
Also aboard: Alex, a white cat with black spots, yellow eyes, and a green collar with a bell.
These entries are launch-ready material imported from the previous Starship Changeling site.
